Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the Kolona browser extension and the website kolona.app. By using Kolona, you agree to them.

Using Kolona

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Kolona extension. You may not resell it, or copy, modify or redistribute it, except where the law allows you to.

Your links and settings are yours. Kolona stores them on your device and, if you use sync, in your account so your devices can read them. Our Privacy Policy explains how.

Free trial

When you first sign in, you get Kolona Pro free for 14 days. No card is needed and nothing is charged. One trial per account. When it ends, Kolona goes back to Free: nothing is deleted, the workspace you used last stays active, and the other workspaces and Smart search wait until you subscribe.

Kolona Pro

• Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown when you subscribe, plus any tax that applies where you live.
• Pro is sold through Link, by Stripe as the merchant of record. Stripe charges your card, calculates and collects the tax for your country and remits it to the tax authorities. Your purchase is subject to Stripe’s Managed Payments terms in addition to these terms.
• Receipts and invoices are sent by email from Link, and your card statement shows the payment as LINK.COM* followed by Kolona.
• It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from the customer portal on your account page, or from your Link account at link.com. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
• If a renewal payment fails, Pro continues for 7 days while the payment is retried. If it still fails, Kolona goes back to Free. Nothing is deleted.
• Refunds and payment disputes are handled by Stripe through Link support, following Stripe’s refund process and the consumer law that applies to you. You can also write to us and we will pass the request on.
• We may change the price for future periods. We will tell you before the change, and you can cancel before it applies.

No warranty

Kolona is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it reliable, but we don’t promise that it will be free of errors or always available, or that your data can never be lost. Keep an export of anything you can’t afford to lose: Settings → Data → Export everything.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business, that come from using Kolona. If we are liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Kolona in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using Kolona at any time by removing the extension, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your account if you abuse the service, for example by attacking it, overloading it or using it to break the law.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Significant changes will be announced in the extension before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria. TODO(legal): confirm the governing law.
